Organisations and individuals rely upon continuous skill and competence development to remain productive and competitive. Objective assessment of individual or organisational capability depends upon comparison with a structured, levelled and recognised framework as provided by the e-CF.

IT Professionalism Europe (ITPE)
To increase the visibility and accessibility of the e-Competence Framework (e-CF), ITPE has created the ‘e-CF Explorer’.
This tool allows the user to:
- Browse the framework diagram to read the descriptors of each competency
- Select roles to view the competency/levels that define them, as well as the role and competency descriptions
- Create his/her own custom profile (a set of competencies/levels) to be saved as a pdf to the personal device.
The Italian Association of ICT Professionals uses the e-CF as basis for assessing and admitting new members in their community.
AICA offers and delivers the e-Competence Management (e-CM) tool, enriched with 157 sets of knowledge and skills in dimension 4, to companies and public organizations to update skill and competencies inventory and assessment, competence qualification and certification compliant with CEN/UNI Norm, ICT Professional System Planning, Individual and focused Training Plan, Outplacement support and Reskilling, Make or Buy policies, verification of Higher Education Curricula (Master). Furthermore, AICA has developed “e4job”, a booklet focusing on the most important components of digital knowledge dedicated to non-ICT professionals and managers.

ICT-mastery is an online semantic analysis tool, that distils, identifies and classifies digital skills (e-Competences) out of any document, like job descriptions, CV’s, LinkedIn profiles, job offers, curricula and (legacy) training materials. In doing so, it provides transparency in the ICT domain.
IT Staffing Nederland,
IT Staffing is embedding the European Competence Framework in their recruiting and matching systems, for the sake of better transparency and quality on this process.
The job portal applies the e-CF as a job-matching tool between employee digital competences and organisation needs.
The global talent resource management provider uses the e-CF for benchmarking candidates through psychometric profiling. Jobnomads is used for ICT talent sourcing from disparate online talent pools, for the assessment of team dynamics, and for development of in-house talent.
The Dutch sector association hosts a public e-CF registry for professional active in IT, and provides e-CF assessments tools to periodically (re)assess Professionals.
